A WINNING PARTNERSHIP
Our partnership with the Sepang Racing Team completes PETRONAS' presence in the world of motorcycle racing, from the grassroots right up to MotoGP™. It also enhances our global branding and technological innovation, particularly in the field of fuel and lubricants.
Through PETRONAS’ Fluid Technology Solutions, we aim to significantly contribute to the teams’ performance by developing and testing customised product formulations to help boost their competitive edge.
OUR HISTORY
We first entered the motorcycle racing World Championship through PETRONAS Sprinta Yamaha TVK in the 250cc World Championship from 2000 to 2003. Following this initial success, we then became a partner to the Fiat Yamaha Factory Racing team from 2009 to 2011.
After several years of further development work in motorcycle racing, we announced in 2019 that PETRONAS SRT would contest in all three top level categories – MotoGP™, Moto2™ and Moto3™. And by having a presence across the board, we now have a fully-fledged programme that allows talent to progress through the ranks seamlessly, strategically and sustainably. Crucially, this partnership also enables us to showcase the strength and breadth of our technology and products.

FUTURE VISION
Our partnership with PETRONAS Sepang Racing Team will drive us forward in the coming years, enabling us to develop our expertise and also develop talents from riders, mechanics, engineers and even scientists through our Talent Development Programme (TDP).
We will continue to push boundaries in the highly competitive world of motorcycle racing, maximising our investment in research and development, to further develop our innovative lubricant offerings.
